Parents

How to support a Fuse club as a parent
As parents you play a vital role in supporting students and teachers as they start and facilitate Fuse clubs. Given students and teachers are in the school, they will be the primary leaders of Fuse clubs.

As parents and church leaders you can support in several ways:
  1. Support Christian clubs that may already exist in your schools.
  2. Connect students and teachers you know with Fuse leadership. Encourage them to fill out the Fuse interest form to begin the process of starting a club.
  3. Pray for students, and teachers as they seek to love and to serve their schools. Pray earnestly for your schools.
  4. Provide financial support to student and teacher leaders. This could include providing snacks for club meetings and materials for service projects.
  5. Spread the word that Fuse exists. This allows more students and teachers to connect and start clubs that aim to serve and love their schools.
Thank you for supporting students and teachers as they seek to love and to serve their schools.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I start a Fuse club and not create my own with it's own name?
Fuse is for Christian clubs starting in schools, regardless of whether they share the name or not! If you have questions or need help with a non-Fuse club, reach out to us so we can help support you where we can.

That being said, Fuse was created to provide an easier way to create effective Christian clubs for students and teachers so they can quickly start loving and serving the schools they find themselves in.

If you start a Fuse club, you'll have the advantage of being united with other Fuse clubs. You'll have a simple and effective mission, a recognizable club brand, and a pre-existing structure you can start with.

What if my administration rejects my club application?
First, respect the decision of your administration. They are attempting to do hard and valuable work of running a public school system and should be appreciated.

Second, seek to understand their decision. Ask questions in a respectful way so you can make changes to your application and apply again in the future. Sometimes it can take years to get a club approved, and that is normal.

As you refine your application and understand the administration's concerns, you can do the work of loving and serving others without a formal club. In the meantime, you can attend a local church to meet other Christian students, write thank yous for teachers with your friends over lunch, and volunteer where you can.

Even before your club is approved, serving and loving your school can help the administration to understand the vision and mission of Fuse so they feel comfortable approving it in the future. But, do not serve your school in order to get something from them. Check your heart, and serve them out of love alone.
